When Sarah (<a href="https://sewsweetness.com/" target="_blank">SewSweetness</a>) posted the September <a href="https://sewsweetness.com/products/minikins" target="_blank">Minikins </a>challenge as the Moto Pouch, I knew it would be perfect to make for my brother for his birthday. I thought this navy blue fabric mixed with cork would be a lovely manly bag. The inside is lined with a solid medium gray.</div>

The colors where perfect! I love his style of homes and scoured Google to find the perfect image to work from. I fell in love with the angles of this house: <a href="http://theelamhouse.com/" target="_blank">The Elam House</a>. Which I learned you can rent and stay in!!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I began drafting a pattern to foundation paper piece the house. I like foundation paper piecing, especially when going from a picture to a pattern. I don't have to measure anything this way! The entries have to be square, so I took the opportunity to fill in the spaces with Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass patterns. I got the idea from the tiny spot in the image on the lower left between the garage and the house. I think that part is probably a metal door, but it made me think of stained glass 😁</div>

I had read about applique paper that you print on, sew over, and then it dissolves when you wash it. So I gave that a try for this project. The paper has a fusible side and I actually printed on that side instead because I didn't want to scan my pattern in to the computer and reverse it before printing. It didn't fold into crisp lines like I like unless I used a piece of cardstock to fold the papers.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The piecing went together quicker than I thought it would. There were only a few spots that had weird (non-straight sewing) seams, but I knew that when I drew it out. I had thought about sewing tiny pieces of the navy in between to look like the solder lines of stained glass, but didn't have a good way of making it even (and because it's "due" today!!), so I decided not to do that part. I still think it looks cool with all the gray pieces sewn back together.</div>

I think the thick applique papers caused some of my pieces too large causing some pieces to not fit perfectly... BUT I'm super happy with how this turned out! I'm cutting it real close to the deadline (TODAY!)... I hope I get in this time...</div>

At the Modern Stitching Affair this spring, we got to learn weaving from the amazing Tara Curtis of Wefty Needle. I did not follow direction for the pattern and instead created a very random looking weave. BUT was in awe of people who were using the confetti ombre dots fabric and knew I had to create a weave out of it sometime. I picked out a ton of fabric; this green and neutrals for my mom and some different ones for myself.</div>

After signing up for SewHungryHippie's newsletter and following her on Instagram, I knew I had to make the Santorini Tote WITH a cork bottom. I wove two panels to sew onto the cork. In hindsight, maybe I should have just wove one panel and cut it in half... next time!</div>

It's that time again! Curated Quilts put out their <a href="https://curatedquilts.com/blogs/news/triangle-mini-quilts-call-for-entries" target="_blank">call for entries</a> at the beginning of March: triangles!! Yahoo!<br />
I spent quite a bit of time creating a color plan and then a triangle pattern plan.<br />

I tried not to make too many repeats of patterns, and the fabrics will make each one different anyway.<br />
Making all the little triangles took forever! I paper pieced each one, then sewed rows together as I created them, and pulled out all the paper at the very end.<br />
To quilt, I sewed around the edge - right sides together - and turned it out, stitched around the edge, then quilted each triangle according to it's pattern.<br />

I quilted straight parallel lines across the whole quilt. I really loved how it looked a few of the quilts that Violet has done and wanted to try it. I used painters tape to get the lines straight and reused pieces until I couldn't anymore.<br />

<br />
I recently got to pattern test for Violet Craft. I always oogle over her patterns, so this was a great opportunity to stitch up a brand new one and help out one of my favorite designers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlife0_sI-KSdl5mBbNwh6h6kLVaP362sfmCgrhfE5qnYfGNxKBoBGknrSOW9zvAfeJV7_wV6S2sa_9xJzxsu99SY-cJDliUwAX4CQcZEAsQyCGDc0dwU-jR2IBBUg97-bbZ8LVTaGavMj/s1600/IMG_20180102_210509435.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1229" data-original-width="1600" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlife0_sI-KSdl5mBbNwh6h6kLVaP362sfmCgrhfE5qnYfGNxKBoBGknrSOW9zvAfeJV7_wV6S2sa_9xJzxsu99SY-cJDliUwAX4CQcZEAsQyCGDc0dwU-jR2IBBUg97-bbZ8LVTaGavMj/s320/IMG_20180102_210509435.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I like coloring and planning, so of course I colored in the Wolf Abstractions coloring sheet. The colors aren't exactly what I picked out, but pretty close. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7zAikmpX3FEnai_xK0csWtPiuPs1eg71hfWZxeUqSTgUx3TSCOLVixIS_rwKR5EHGCkMtPnKhWTlBAdEBNncVVjZ0gHrVasWfoupc-QxEsD18I-X0ZEk2xVX35n_qb90YywWslu6VRcJt/s1600/IMG_20180102_210534731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1150" data-original-width="1600" height="229" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7zAikmpX3FEnai_xK0csWtPiuPs1eg71hfWZxeUqSTgUx3TSCOLVixIS_rwKR5EHGCkMtPnKhWTlBAdEBNncVVjZ0gHrVasWfoupc-QxEsD18I-X0ZEk2xVX35n_qb90YywWslu6VRcJt/s320/IMG_20180102_210534731.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here's my fabric pull (let's be real, purchase, thank's Christmas gift cards!).<br />
<br />
Now the long part... cutting out all the paper pieces. I make it double hard on myself because I cut out one set to all the smallest pieces and one set to just the paper templates. Then I use the small piece set to rough cut my fabric pieces.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuHD6mpjTl1dWbojHqqYMCuAVu0JOEbJkoNZyYsuK3-V0_uXMnrAtmHFlAdJLbUAIuzLSRXotSZqW7vowz8w7oXsvV_2LaqLYueGG0RnkBt0WrefSRgin9ZKxdrjkmqcr9COYy7tHucIq1/s1600/IMG_20180104_232227632.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuHD6mpjTl1dWbojHqqYMCuAVu0JOEbJkoNZyYsuK3-V0_uXMnrAtmHFlAdJLbUAIuzLSRXotSZqW7vowz8w7oXsvV_2LaqLYueGG0RnkBt0WrefSRgin9ZKxdrjkmqcr9COYy7tHucIq1/s320/IMG_20180104_232227632.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
So I end up with a pile like this with pieces that mostly match the shapes I need, but a little bit larger. For any piece that doesn't get sewn to a template, I cut it out perfect size. I use a glue stick to lay those pieces out before cutting to size.<br />
<br />
<br />
Ok, so here's how I piece them all together. I have these two pieces that are rough cut:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbNQJDlGS8PPBCHhifCFPw_WhbBPLNp1iO5kFHx-d2Fk0_t8LZktzsnIsi7QznXkzpIlVqbwlOnBpJYZJfZdyJbQ3DQk837_mcnRk02Pz-1I34CnbP6x1Lk6bDK9sqZxEXoMsfBS5MtA8c/s1600/IMG_20180107_092806940.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbNQJDlGS8PPBCHhifCFPw_WhbBPLNp1iO5kFHx-d2Fk0_t8LZktzsnIsi7QznXkzpIlVqbwlOnBpJYZJfZdyJbQ3DQk837_mcnRk02Pz-1I34CnbP6x1Lk6bDK9sqZxEXoMsfBS5MtA8c/s320/IMG_20180107_092806940.jpg" style="cursor: move;" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And need to get sewn together like this template:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqG7I6UQMzZjJESoJ_CMR74RunuxrHv_qnrHScfp469zGkB6gJfGeV3QffZzPmRdwlQ11Vt-hJtpU7gafn0-5sEogdEca2Ld7LQtiovrHq4c3yf390z1FrkNnM282MFKaTo1wqscaM6Ygl/s1600/IMG_20180107_092828490.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqG7I6UQMzZjJESoJ_CMR74RunuxrHv_qnrHScfp469zGkB6gJfGeV3QffZzPmRdwlQ11Vt-hJtpU7gafn0-5sEogdEca2Ld7LQtiovrHq4c3yf390z1FrkNnM282MFKaTo1wqscaM6Ygl/s320/IMG_20180107_092828490.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I use an index card to get a perfectly straight fold where the two pieces join.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGxPIuLe3U1WN9xOtdPz3vCTZCnXrHRZ_gegEBBEuEzI6Q0loOgnJJu4Y-ZbHY3gAsq1uel9LcOrT5lmfgDZlvf7XCMJOSfnYOuOMtfhW0ViPzRDwwlvc0_C9XwbzmNDLFrjBH5Ke_-NMR/s1600/IMG_20180107_092858478.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGxPIuLe3U1WN9xOtdPz3vCTZCnXrHRZ_gegEBBEuEzI6Q0loOgnJJu4Y-ZbHY3gAsq1uel9LcOrT5lmfgDZlvf7XCMJOSfnYOuOMtfhW0ViPzRDwwlvc0_C9XwbzmNDLFrjBH5Ke_-NMR/s320/IMG_20180107_092858478.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I take the first piece and line it up under the folded template.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibaJRlUzFjfubyPRKbL1sKH6FYLL3HiIbaRlCuetO4C3GbqrtkLVsoIlAhFIiacYnRFK6ToRzYKETjwV60wS2vMVEiu4-Xd_I7cE9qk98eI8nNtr_g9qtGdRNPjhH1laFDMLpxEwQMXszj/s1600/IMG_20180107_092923997.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibaJRlUzFjfubyPRKbL1sKH6FYLL3HiIbaRlCuetO4C3GbqrtkLVsoIlAhFIiacYnRFK6ToRzYKETjwV60wS2vMVEiu4-Xd_I7cE9qk98eI8nNtr_g9qtGdRNPjhH1laFDMLpxEwQMXszj/s320/IMG_20180107_092923997.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Then, I take the second piece and line it up underneath everything, using the template to know where to place it. Check to make sure all edges have a little overlap (that's why I rough cut them) and that the seam allowance has enough fabric to sew.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgROC1w6PEWud_6nCsXscqlkHrVAxnc5ShkD2NEIu1G0FJ8lJk3ntfkmgPWPDwd6296ZJklHgrF3OjSxqvLICVrM2SUfJICXgTIbqEMH6oeJJh31GZ2AJCC5R4Dqm3wAIPiGSMfA4bV1dRu/s1600/IMG_20180107_093043400.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgROC1w6PEWud_6nCsXscqlkHrVAxnc5ShkD2NEIu1G0FJ8lJk3ntfkmgPWPDwd6296ZJklHgrF3OjSxqvLICVrM2SUfJICXgTIbqEMH6oeJJh31GZ2AJCC5R4Dqm3wAIPiGSMfA4bV1dRu/s320/IMG_20180107_093043400.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Keeping the fabric pieces lined up, unfold the template and pin within the overlap, but not on the seam line.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis-aP7ia8vIgkMejy2Ox69R_TWZ_WH6Rl4ErSxO4p8W3LKl_hSF6YbPCNZu7MEZncO55dQUnT498yAc3wOa2359Zvk_rczlE6eNN7C3MDQoUYy942bq_7YUATxTfZqfWltQimnFTCMTI37/s1600/IMG_20180107_093120475.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis-aP7ia8vIgkMejy2Ox69R_TWZ_WH6Rl4ErSxO4p8W3LKl_hSF6YbPCNZu7MEZncO55dQUnT498yAc3wOa2359Zvk_rczlE6eNN7C3MDQoUYy942bq_7YUATxTfZqfWltQimnFTCMTI37/s320/IMG_20180107_093120475.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Sew across the seam line. (Yes, I used teal thread for this entire project even when teal wasn't being stitched together! Weird, I know)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEige4Do1n3iqhmks4oy4Ut0bOopPAzYgrgHFVNPGD0TsLg3sw0Dly3zNoHR6o6m7OsAgwVZgb4P-Pjr5YUNEMOShWRkx8VhRCQxJ9P7II8rtOP6WVhzAxb33p0Zdc30cWosWaVunaef6_Pw/s1600/IMG_20180107_093158820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEige4Do1n3iqhmks4oy4Ut0bOopPAzYgrgHFVNPGD0TsLg3sw0Dly3zNoHR6o6m7OsAgwVZgb4P-Pjr5YUNEMOShWRkx8VhRCQxJ9P7II8rtOP6WVhzAxb33p0Zdc30cWosWaVunaef6_Pw/s320/IMG_20180107_093158820.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The, I use this add-a-quarter ruler to trim the seam. It's extra easy to refold because it was folded and now it's stitched as well. The add-a-quarter ruler has the neat lip on the underside that catches on the folded paper and allows you to trim a perfect 1/4" seam allowance.<br />

<br />
Flip over and iron the second piece flat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The back should have a little bit of overhang from each piece of fabric. Use a ruler to trim the fabric according to the template. (You do NOT need the add-a-quarter ruler for this. It's just what I had near me at the moment.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihZV10yWgaznwqkNZ1fdIOm3Mf3sZlOBAYTrtgBdKqkSeT2dhiXRPzsSMSbuHwY15ik2aMnWjG3cnOgIsyxRtmIB4IdcLlJflHoQL40AQ9NWDvUO8aJFpA6A3cv1RxSRO2Mt0mYfSEzQ3C/s1600/IMG_20180107_093420699.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihZV10yWgaznwqkNZ1fdIOm3Mf3sZlOBAYTrtgBdKqkSeT2dhiXRPzsSMSbuHwY15ik2aMnWjG3cnOgIsyxRtmIB4IdcLlJflHoQL40AQ9NWDvUO8aJFpA6A3cv1RxSRO2Mt0mYfSEzQ3C/s320/IMG_20180107_093420699.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Your piece should look like this. The paper is still on the back. You need that to sort out all the pieces to sew together.<br />

<br />
Curated Quilts put out their call for entries for their third magazine. It was a topic that I love, so of course I had to create a mini quilt again. I wanted to highlight one of the colors and one neutral so keep a minimal color palette, so choose this triangle printed green and medium gray from my LQS.<br />
First, I cut the strips of gray in the heights I wanted and triangles plus 1/4" seam allowance. Next, I cut the gray strips to fit the triangles. Then, I sewed the triangles into the strips and sewed the strips together - adding a few 1/4" pieces in between to give some triangles more space. The back is the same gray color as the background and I even added little triangle pockets in the back to hang it up!<br />
It finishes 15" x 15" to match the size of my previous Curated Quilts finish: <a href="https://bybridget.blogspot.com/b/post-preview?token=l_JSv2ABAAA.NF0sY60CUA4VFFnn5lZoHcdEy-fzZ40zA4oMKXnd9ex6vbxfITLbl48VU0LWhDJQV0dkS89iIbWngrP5tYmf0g.41DNxzRqFLtrqwllLJaLlw&postId=9218008243099941266&type=POST" target="_blank">Crow Catcher</a>bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07551291681491965400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6104501734723495791.post-62666441154058388772017-12-07T10:27:00.001-06:002017-12-07T10:28:02.879-06:00Moda-Aurifil Mini Challenge<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Moda and Aurifil sponsored a contest from September-December 1st, 2017. Entrants had to use ONLY Moda pre-cuts and ONLY Aurifil threads.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I chose this blue jelly roll, Fragile by Zen Chic mini-charm pack, these 5 12wt threads, plus 50wt white thread. I only ended up using the yellow, teal, and black 12wt threads.</div>

I wanted to turn the mini-charm pack into hexies and spread them over a blue patchwork background.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used fusible web to fold the squares into hexies and then more fusible web to stick them to my patchwork background before quilting. It worked out really well as long as I didn't push any of them too hard while quilting!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I planned for the hexies to not be in every square. I love being able to see the stitching on both the hexies and the negative space.</div>

<br />
I stumbled upon this Call for Entries from <a href="https://curatedquilts.com/blogs/news/log-cabin-mini-quilt-call-for-entries" target="_blank">Curated Quilts</a> not that long ago. It started August 31st, so sewists really only had a month to complete their quilt. It's a small size challenge though at 10" square to 16" square.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZlqERfVs-AbqdpkTFs1dBAVR8N91kl3gLRctoGA8_k2TDsSYE8BW4W_SPeDnSoqtW4es_EyNEusxGNGhRsPKSQEs0tWD-v3-vXNOsh29Fwjmakv4FZqwILr9vhpKCAZAMlysEhX2-pXli/s1600/IMG_20170929_141400%257E2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZlqERfVs-AbqdpkTFs1dBAVR8N91kl3gLRctoGA8_k2TDsSYE8BW4W_SPeDnSoqtW4es_EyNEusxGNGhRsPKSQEs0tWD-v3-vXNOsh29Fwjmakv4FZqwILr9vhpKCAZAMlysEhX2-pXli/s400/IMG_20170929_141400%257E2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I wasn't going to making anything for this contest unless I had finished another, larger project I was working on. I found more time for that one than I thought and decided that this contest seemed like fun.<br />
I pulled fabrics from my stash that matched the color palette and discovered a had a bunch of the amazing Kaufman Essex Yarn Dyed Linen! I used that for a neutral but textured background and narrowed down my colored, printed scraps for the log cabin portions.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlEToUnz0ogcocv_f7nO73JjPpRlXAoP-VYRcOSrABoCqfKouGot_1gZOdm1BF1toJGRlRJS5G_5cTzl-TXquoWQxRtzgqi3PYE6Wzvu0OtzqopgIb_741XXvfW2PhgVSe4LMvnKavP-ZF/s1600/IMG_20170929_141454%257E2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlEToUnz0ogcocv_f7nO73JjPpRlXAoP-VYRcOSrABoCqfKouGot_1gZOdm1BF1toJGRlRJS5G_5cTzl-TXquoWQxRtzgqi3PYE6Wzvu0OtzqopgIb_741XXvfW2PhgVSe4LMvnKavP-ZF/s400/IMG_20170929_141454%257E2.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
Just like normal, I started with a drawing. I actually turned this drawing into a full size drawing to see how the pieces would fit together. At 15" it wasn't a big deal to draw larger. I used that drawing to cut pieces of muslin for the log cabin pieces so that I could quilt-as-you-go over the top and not have to worry about cutting the scrap pieces to the right size. Some of the smallest pieces are under a quarter inch!<br />

I had loads of fun creating this mini-quilt! I had never done quilt-as-you-go or pieced so many random pieces without a pattern. I had some fun at the end too and took my quilt for a photo shot around my house!<br />

<br />
<br />
I recently participated in the <a href="http://blog.modafabrics.com/challengebella-solids/" target="_blank">Moda Bella Solids Challenge</a>. The guide lines were to create a contemporary style quilt using all 12 (and only those 12) Moda solids. The design had to be original and finish at 72" x 90". Not too hard!</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCz319VhYF7BYi6nbj9bRDLsfa-tNvJPgPvhe4hHnTsvAFyruvH5Y74iUunXLF4FzECKwsBYxy4YWqxxq-GFvZi55tO0jgxjPFn4rmeZwc4IJA-NJ7sU8jlxwLQTkRQ_IKc7fCsKhruwYF/s1600/IMG_20170921_070918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1182" data-original-width="1600" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCz319VhYF7BYi6nbj9bRDLsfa-tNvJPgPvhe4hHnTsvAFyruvH5Y74iUunXLF4FzECKwsBYxy4YWqxxq-GFvZi55tO0jgxjPFn4rmeZwc4IJA-NJ7sU8jlxwLQTkRQ_IKc7fCsKhruwYF/s400/IMG_20170921_070918.jpg" width="400" /></a>I decided to create an equilateral triangle design because I've always wanted to create a quilt using triangles. I also wanted the colors to "make" the quilt, so I designed this explosion of colors radiating out from the center.<br />
<br />
<br />
Here's all the colors and how big I planned on making each triangle.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDxVDlUyTGwaxnm-UNYyekZsjMYGm6ZZLpgGdCnSamfIzVzcPuVB-JcNfukoDvt55SghfKazd_jaJ4ISCqjXMAUbnY29wl2WNT9I8-OzdQjfrLFSnvRq0smvDuPdo0vCAY3KhW8q9uwYnl/s1600/IMG_20170921_070901.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1322" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDxVDlUyTGwaxnm-UNYyekZsjMYGm6ZZLpgGdCnSamfIzVzcPuVB-JcNfukoDvt55SghfKazd_jaJ4ISCqjXMAUbnY29wl2WNT9I8-OzdQjfrLFSnvRq0smvDuPdo0vCAY3KhW8q9uwYnl/s400/IMG_20170921_070901.jpg" title="Quilt Plan Drawing" width="330" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
My first step was to plan out where all the colors would lay. I didn't want same colors to touch except for the white edges. You might notice my plan ended up too small, so I sliced it down the middle and added more to the center.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2WOFXHS1nWTWA5uY4gfjh_FQ_CkbK_JrUxCTHpOQe2vKo7dydwM1vJjUfMDh3IA646l1bXM52Q-LhFVsrVnbExROZtJ3whLOIy3y7oMyoEBAUNDEfxXEKdzi_vNjfVEvbCN3aZ7llzSqj/s1600/IMG_20170921_070928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1242" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2WOFXHS1nWTWA5uY4gfjh_FQ_CkbK_JrUxCTHpOQe2vKo7dydwM1vJjUfMDh3IA646l1bXM52Q-LhFVsrVnbExROZtJ3whLOIy3y7oMyoEBAUNDEfxXEKdzi_vNjfVEvbCN3aZ7llzSqj/s400/IMG_20170921_070928.jpg" width="310" /></a>Then, because I'm a very visual person, I counted how many triangle of each color I needed and drew out how much fabric I would need for each color.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sadly, I took zero in-progress shots. I did shoot a few cool shots towards the end of creating though.</div>

I finished the quilt to to my arrow quilt! That was my goal for my summer break. During winter break I'll quilt and bind it. I haven't decided yet if I want to quilt it on my machine or rent time on a long-arm...<br />

I started a project that I will use these fabrics in. I just think they are so perfect together! It's Carolyn Friedlander's Doe and Carkai collections. The challenge is to make and post one quilt block a day for 100 days out of Tula Pink's City Sampler book. Here's the <a href="http://www.gnomeangel.com/100days100blocks-tula-pink-city-sampler-instagram-sew-along/#comment-200423" target="_blank">details</a>.bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07551291681491965400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6104501734723495791.post-7729392064571508512016-08-12T11:49:00.002-05:002016-08-12T11:54:18.372-05:00Arrow Quilt - Green, Orange, and Gray Arrows<br />

I've been working slow but steady these last few days and have completed my last sets of arrows! They seem to go faster and faster each time a make a new set. The gray ones especially since there are only 4 of those!<br />

I was intrigued by the bag and saved the tutorial as something I wanted to sew someday. I didn't think I would participate in the challenge because I was gone and didn't have an idea for what I wanted it to look like. BUT last night I had a dream about putting on arrow on the front of it, similar to what I made yesterday for the Arrow Quilt I'm sewing. I had to modify the arrow pattern from the quilt a little bit to make it smaller and had to modify the directions from the bucket bag tutorial quite a bit to make it the right size with the arrow instead of what he put on the from. It wasn't too difficult to figure out though. I made the outside of the bag out of extra fabric from other projects. For the inside fabric, rope, and grommets I had to make a run to JoAnns. Oh darn! ;-) I decided on this amazing bright lime green canvas for the inside because I LOVE bright colors and black rope to not distract from the arrow design. I've sewn a few circle bottomed bags in the past, so once I had the pieces cut out, the bag went together pretty quickly.<br />
<br />
Wish me luck on getting picked as a winner. The prizes look pretty amazing!<br />

I'm making a few modifications to the colors. I wanted the green/yellow one to be more similar in colors; more about that section later. I also replaced the pink arrows with true orange that I will place opposite the red arrows in the finished quilt.<br />

About a month ago, I cut up all the background pieces so that when I returned from my Honeymoon I could just start sewing. It took a few days to start though because I came home sick! Ugh!<br />

Today I completed the 5 blue arrows.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have participated in most of the <a href="http://www.persimondreams.blogspot.ca/2016/03/a-goose-in-monkey-wrenchchallenge-6-of.html" target="_blank">project quilting</a> challenges from Persimon Dreams. This is my first year participating. It was a blast! I can wait for next year and new challenges.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started this challenge with the thought that I wanted to combine the monkey wrench and flying geese in a sneaky way. I started with just the center monkey wrench with the geese hidden in the center. Then I remembered seeing a picture captioned "how many flying geese?" and added the outer corners. Then I colored my drawing using my favorite colors (which I have a TON of fabric of).</div>

I believe that your first solution to a problem isn't always the best, soil draw it again but colored it different.</div>

I also wanted to try doing a positive/negative block and flipped some of the outer geese. I thought that I was satisfied with the design, so started to figure out the sizes of pieces I needed to cut. I figured too different sizes; one with a 2" center and one with a 4" center.<br />

I left the drawings alone for half a day. When I looked at the drawings again, I decided with a little help, that I like how the border geese on the last drawing give a pointed frame and liked the colors from my first drawing. So, I drew it one more time.<br />

I found an awesome tutorial on how to make flying geese 4 at a time! It was super easy that way, and perfect because I had 4 or 8 to make of each kind.<br />
I have made lots of half square triangles before, and decided to use the 4 at a time method since I needed four.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here are all the sections - flying geese, half square triangles (for the monkey wrench), and solid pieces.<br />

I chain piece as much as possible. I feel like it makes everything go quickly and I like how it keeps the pieces in order. I wanted the fabrics to speak for themselves, so a stitched in the ditch to quilt it. I also like how then the front is ghosted on the back.<br />
I really enjoy how it turned out! The finished piece is 16" x 16". I plan on using it as a table topper or possibly a wall hanging.<br />

bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07551291681491965400noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6104501734723495791.post-42312116326095978032014-01-30T19:37:00.000-06:002014-02-04T19:38:17.023-06:00Zippers...Quite awhile ago, I decided that I hate zippers. I don't WANT to hate zippers, but I just never like the way they turn out.<br />
<br />
I've tried this pretty normal way of putting in a zipper. I'm not sure if this is a *exact* tutorial that I used, but <a href="http://www.noodle-head.com/2009/10/tutorial-lil-cutie-pouches.html" target="_blank">this</a> is how I put the zipper in a few pouches.<br />
I don't like how the ends are all squished looking... but I also don't really know how to fix it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5ouda35V7Rg6I5469hsAP1pA_Qx2lerNVHtSvAMwBUS2kGCDqGFZTqduMiYTZTnlX_BdemR0m9L_pTcCeoYMc-K7MrJ7nvpGBvosSzjAvR2GduPuBcrtFFHJb-6SiV2RPMPbLnMq84spV/s1600/0101+--2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5ouda35V7Rg6I5469hsAP1pA_Qx2lerNVHtSvAMwBUS2kGCDqGFZTqduMiYTZTnlX_BdemR0m9L_pTcCeoYMc-K7MrJ7nvpGBvosSzjAvR2GduPuBcrtFFHJb-6SiV2RPMPbLnMq84spV/s1600/0101+--2.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next I tried a method that used tabs on the ends of the zippers before sewing it in. Again, kind of like <a href="http://thesewingloftblog.com/2013/10/15/zipper-tabs-and-anatomy/" target="_blank">this</a>, but I'm sure this isn't the same tutorial I used.</div>
Same problem on this one. There's even more bulk at the ends even though the pictures don't look like it.<br />

<br />
Anyway, so I decided to sign up for a zipper pouch class at The Sewcial Lounge in Madison. I was super excited because the class was taught by <a href="http://www.incolororder.com/p/about.html" target="_blank">Jeni B</a>!<br />

<br />
It was very small. Four students total. We started by ironing and cutting our fabric for 2 pouches... and it was just like first method I posted :-( Darn it, but I thought since I'm here I can pick Jeni's brain about zippers. So I told her how I don't like how the ends look. The secret? Straightening it as much as possible and then pounding it with a hammer... huh. I'll try that on one of the new pouches I made in class.<br />
Ok, but I like the look of tabbed zippers better. The secret to that? DON'T SEW THROUGH THE TAB! Just get as close to it as possible without sewing it.<br />
<br />
Now I need to make more bags...bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07551291681491965400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6104501734723495791.post-84387607984414052412014-01-03T18:49:00.000-06:002014-01-30T18:49:27.983-06:00I'm One Lucky Girl!I got a new sewing machine for Christmas and didn't even (exactly) ask for it!<br />
<br />
I had purchased some fabric on sale on Black Friday. I decided the perfect way to break my sewing machine in was a table runner (that's just a top piece right now) and a Nook cover (for my Nook that I got LAST Christmas...)<br />
<br />
I sewed hexies for my Nook cover while away for Christmas and didn't want to haul my machine. After Christmas, I sewed it up just in time for our vacation!<br />

At the same time, my dad made me an acrylic pattern to cut the shapes for my runner. I cut those out and threw this runner (top only right now) together in a night.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Here's the awesome end result...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqDGDHDy8bRO_z2Hw9XJdEn7COKLSpuuMa_A5qU6SssY-yYLlNy9wiC1i48fnmSdNbw2ctClIf3nncalJksiEdoYDIQ7twQPFVjDdQyVOfKTRxdJohyphenhyphenwmMBnEoDg8i3p3V4K5_TD4P-Rz8/s1600/CIMG9042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqDGDHDy8bRO_z2Hw9XJdEn7COKLSpuuMa_A5qU6SssY-yYLlNy9wiC1i48fnmSdNbw2ctClIf3nncalJksiEdoYDIQ7twQPFVjDdQyVOfKTRxdJohyphenhyphenwmMBnEoDg8i3p3V4K5_TD4P-Rz8/s1600/CIMG9042.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I know there's a few things wrong with it, but I can't even remember what anymore... So I guess it doesn't really matter, huh?<br />

I'm pretty proud of it! It took a few hours over 2 days and it made me feel better about finishing the larger leaf quilt.<br />
April 2013<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKgiNcY-3o8Xaukw3NOk92xmLpv1MWdWliBGI7yuehskEtKGLzaKJMtjt3TmzTo2f6FrfPX0SvnQn-8JLMjDpsHuWgUco71JAfS25_nlnpz4ZZIcOZ4-kNJCa7cSoMXX8YZCyvHyyA6uc2/s1600/IMG_1155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKgiNcY-3o8Xaukw3NOk92xmLpv1MWdWliBGI7yuehskEtKGLzaKJMtjt3TmzTo2f6FrfPX0SvnQn-8JLMjDpsHuWgUco71JAfS25_nlnpz4ZZIcOZ4-kNJCa7cSoMXX8YZCyvHyyA6uc2/s1600/IMG_1155.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhudtLIRyqe5lZlcoAkbHefIpq26ky5x2R0a2sKtzrzqk7MRDTyBpuNmq1HfvrZlPcx-jzRbnxFOTgxrk7DaOHKt9nGKZcNYvQZqQ-Xsmg_ZnFGWipQ046eORgvmPA7JmSt7kxbVZbyhSRo/s1600/20130414_160628.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhudtLIRyqe5lZlcoAkbHefIpq26ky5x2R0a2sKtzrzqk7MRDTyBpuNmq1HfvrZlPcx-jzRbnxFOTgxrk7DaOHKt9nGKZcNYvQZqQ-Xsmg_ZnFGWipQ046eORgvmPA7JmSt7kxbVZbyhSRo/s1600/20130414_160628.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A side note, it was strangely hard to find pink baby fabric. I was pleasantly surprised since its not my favorite color, but also frustrating since that's what the mom wanted...<br />
<br />
<br />
I've also completed my placemats that I started right after Christmas. I loved piecing the hexies and hand sewing... But it makes me wonder how to English paper piece with my machine.<br />

1) It's the first Christmas living with my boyfriend! Therefore, we need stockings! But not just any old purchased stockings.... Pieced and quilted stockings of course...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFcRCWxSJc-i1HBbhfHwQagTpI4tnXKKEA4bn7mupQ28tc0rC_-flGSqQ_58tknSVkw7xnsa2A2B43JTfmaJA-qlOKwMBxj8USOOueDlU38n6aocIS25c8SmuHPTpwhz-IibaZsN6tx-6/s1600/467986_10101743191726687_1695554893_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFcRCWxSJc-i1HBbhfHwQagTpI4tnXKKEA4bn7mupQ28tc0rC_-flGSqQ_58tknSVkw7xnsa2A2B43JTfmaJA-qlOKwMBxj8USOOueDlU38n6aocIS25c8SmuHPTpwhz-IibaZsN6tx-6/s1600/467986_10101743191726687_1695554893_o.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And a new Christmas tree skirt!<br />

<br />
<br />
2) I start student teaching shortly after Christmas. I feel like I won't be doing art for personal fun, but instead practicing projects for making with students! Just as fun, but not sewing, lol.bridgethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07551291681491965400noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6104501734723495791.post-56438824647041272102012-12-20T18:02:00.000-06:002012-12-20T18:02:02.566-06:00Leaf Quilt: Aug - DecSo WAAAAY back in January I bought (what I thought to be) all the fabric I needed to make <a href="http://www.quiltandsewshop.com/product/Best-Weekend-Quilts/">this</a> leaf applique quilt. And then I cut MOST of the pieces: 8x8 squares and 2x2 squares and wonky strips.<br />
<br />
In August, I actually started to put the pieces together... 8x8s cut into 2 and wonky strips sewn in between. Then cutting out the 120 leaves... Here's a photo of me (and Zoey) cutting the wonky squares back into 6x6 squares.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb7BmhRglrkDQZgQ9QIXPpjLppSOo8T6r8rmXnwdp_hQgZA-HMp2lSIMWe4t5guED3FPWSm3zaSIvdOQ2kiL7dku7ptwtJGebF05GyN8V_LNHobMgiYgKcF7P3sxR1QLKdhtwswZCKwdjE/s1600/2012-09-10+15.08.51.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhb7BmhRglrkDQZgQ9QIXPpjLppSOo8T6r8rmXnwdp_hQgZA-HMp2lSIMWe4t5guED3FPWSm3zaSIvdOQ2kiL7dku7ptwtJGebF05GyN8V_LNHobMgiYgKcF7P3sxR1QLKdhtwswZCKwdjE/s320/2012-09-10+15.08.51.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then came the LONG (everything in this quilt feels like a long time) task of sewing all the 2x2 squares into 4 square strips (with Jody).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYuEGbYcpD5SxCd4JHVmVDZRKVgfxveGdTvX7ElWBaQJJz4ykEt9J5kOYa6oINUhXEXXOmFwJ9YiHj14lWWjhLlXtvi3bO6p5_NHV7d8HWwgbl7dZNjv-kRNtkA7Jvns4Z8-IBCNgWRwW0/s1600/2012-09-25+20.24.56.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYuEGbYcpD5SxCd4JHVmVDZRKVgfxveGdTvX7ElWBaQJJz4ykEt9J5kOYa6oINUhXEXXOmFwJ9YiHj14lWWjhLlXtvi3bO6p5_NHV7d8HWwgbl7dZNjv-kRNtkA7Jvns4Z8-IBCNgWRwW0/s320/2012-09-25+20.24.56.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I decided that it would be a GREAT idea to hand stitch all the edges of the leaves... did I mention that this quilt is taking a long time? So that took me into November, when I realized that I was 20 leaf squares short and had to do all the steps over again for 20 more! But they look super nice all hand stitched and stuff...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Into December, I needed a fabric for the lime squares and decided that the quilt needs to be 6" larger on all sides SO had to order fabric. After very careful measuring, I bought the wrong amount (too little), couldn't buy more of the same pattern, and ordered some online... only to find that I still didn't order enough. New order and 1 yard too much, I'm set to keep going!! I cut the little squares for the inside and long strips for the outside and started to sew rows.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cats are bad for this. They like to run across all my carefully laid out/planned pieces before I pick them up so that I have to do it all over again... they did this no less than 5 times... I just can't bear to lock them out!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I sewed all the pieces together to make strips.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEildt597NJh6CkM-V64vtrwN2aB3Iddkss4GwAwEq-7r1lAZapjQ8shmiyJ9pTyyV9NgSfAF4xBF66mCPPeOt9OzBT2HvxIBRSj1GR1XGXS99SBV8ePF38TsFYOorj-JwHVpfljqiHmM8ny/s1600/CIMG8790.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEildt597NJh6CkM-V64vtrwN2aB3Iddkss4GwAwEq-7r1lAZapjQ8shmiyJ9pTyyV9NgSfAF4xBF66mCPPeOt9OzBT2HvxIBRSj1GR1XGXS99SBV8ePF38TsFYOorj-JwHVpfljqiHmM8ny/s320/CIMG8790.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And devised this nifty, high tech way to make sure I sew them in order...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyLktXP_PpI6hTVR4aCu_N5cxOsh9mD27HxT-4NUwg_8PdnnFwt0tKRwsgvJhUCXKgGEDVBb4Cp0R8aX9Pa8KpJSCoitmln0PyDwZu-UaIH6M2Ym207JGOk9iO4NHvL3QeDd1IZYEO2JK9/s1600/CIMG8791.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyLktXP_PpI6hTVR4aCu_N5cxOsh9mD27HxT-4NUwg_8PdnnFwt0tKRwsgvJhUCXKgGEDVBb4Cp0R8aX9Pa8KpJSCoitmln0PyDwZu-UaIH6M2Ym207JGOk9iO4NHvL3QeDd1IZYEO2JK9/s320/CIMG8791.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now I'm sewing all the rows together. I'm 10 rows in with 19 more to go... the ironing is SO time consuming, I wish someone else would do that and I could just sew :-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's the 10 rows...</div>

(but no through Etsy.. lol) I've added 22 pieces to Etsy and sold 4 not on Etsy and 2 through Etsy!!<br />
My mom brought my items to work with her in November and sold a BUNCH of stuff and got lots of custom orders. Many of the pieces on Etsy are from custom orders. I like to make at least 2 pieces for people to pick from but usually I try to make 3. Then the extras go up Etsy for everyone's enjoyment!!<br />
Here's some of the goodies I've been making lately...<br />
